The Fibonacci summation series, the baseline of our patternoriented market analysis, is presented in this first chapter. After the meaning of this sequence of numbers has become clear, we take a quick look at the types of phenomena and achievements in human behavior that can be analyzed using the Fibonacci summation series.

Fibonacci (1170–1240) lived and worked as a merchant and mathematician
in Pisa, Italy. He was one of the most illustrious European
scientists of his time. Among his greatest achievements was the introduction
of Arabic numerals to supersede the Roman figures.
